SOLIDARITY TO THE PEOPLE OF KRALJEVO - join the actions everywhere

A few weeks ago, we received a message from comrades in Serbia, who had most recently organized the 5th Balkan Anarchist Bookfair and the Zrenjanin Antifascist Festival:

“As neglect for Kraljevo which was destroyed by the earthquake become apparent, we decided to start an action based on the Balkans of solidarity, not the Balkans of nationalism. Our  idea, in
this soulless age of tranisition and mixture of cruel capitalism, which is built on feudalistic reasoning spreading ubiquitous hatred and nationalism in the Balkans, is to show that there are still people here whose minds aren’t contaminated by the nightmarish events from 1990 onwards. These are the same people who didn’t let hatred infiltrate their hearts, in which there is place for all people from this devastated area regardless of differences in religion, color or national origin."

Far from hypocritical tax-deduced or vote-promising philanthropy, solidarity actions for the people whose homes and neighborhoods were destroyed by the earthquake in Kraljevo prove that we can help each other effectively and at the same time realize we need to resist and dismantle capitalist relationships, and drive away the bosses altogether. Crisis-ridden people in Greece might now be slowly awakening to the fact that always, the lack of solidarity relationships with the underprivileged and the belief that housing, health, education, food are privileges and not rights, always lead to weakness and vulnerability. And because of this lack of solidarity and arrogant exploitation of others' vitalities to keep up with our lifestyles all these years, people in Greece now  feel so intimidated by the IMF policies of exploitation and impoverishment.
In Thessaloniki, a small party at the YOL, the centre of the Group of Immigrants and Refugees, where , on the coldest night until now this year, we watched “the Shutka Book of Records” and listened to Arabian rap, Oriental jazz and demotic tunes from all over the Balkans functioned as a small awareness and benefit focus. This week, there will be a solidarity box at the Self-Organized School.
